A particularly great journalling prompt is "I remember".
Just start to write
"I remember ..."
and keep that hand moving, even if it doesn't make sense. When you run out of words start on the next line ...
"I remember....
I remember the bluebells in the woods - where could that have been? I hardly ever walk in the woods. I should do it more often!
I remember dreaming about going to school without any shoes - a classic anxiety dream
I remember the pink custard at primary school, and being the smallest in the school so that someone used to put me in a corner and stand in front of me to "protect" me.
I remember the dress my mum was wearing when she came out of hospital with my youngest baby sister - a summer dress, it was September.
For scrapbooking purposes it can help to look at a picture - especially one you don't know how to scrap - and do "I remember...." and see what comes into your mind....
